Krav Maga San Diego is a self-defense and contact combat martial art and workout based in San Diego, California. The website for Krav Maga San Diego was requested by owner and lead instructor Dana Ben Kaplan in 2012, as the prior website was severely outdated.
The goals of the project were to include a jQuery (mobile friendly) slideshow on the homepage, integrate registration forms via PayPal, and show relevant information such as class times, addresses, and upcoming seminars.
The above image shows the revolving HTML5/JavaScript photo gallery and mobile-compatible video on the homepage – very simple and easy for the user to navigate no matter the device they are using.
This is a very simple static page consisting of information about where classes are held. It was important to create a clickable Google map for students to access while on a phone, in case they needed driving directions.
This form is a simple registration form which is integrated with PayPal. It checks what users have entered as options and sends the user to the appropriate checkout form. PayPal was preferred in this design due to it’s strong encryption and large user-base.
As of this writing, Krav Maga San Diego is listed on page 1 of Google for several searches, including “Self Defense San Diego”.
